New Delhi: Two persons who are suspected to be spying for Pakistan, were arrested on Tuesday while they were shooting videos and taking photographs outside an Army camp in Jammu. The suspected spies were seen taking pictures and videographing the military station. Followed by which, they were handed over to the police and are being questioned at a joint interrogation centre, the officials said.


According to the officials, an army patrol noticed the two moving suspiciously at Parmandal Morh near Ratnuchak Military Station and kept a close watch on them. They were immediately taken into custody for questioning. One of them is from Kathua, while the other hails from Doda, the officials said.

The mobile phones of the suspects were scanned during which it came to light that they were in regular contact with some persons in Pakistan and have also shared some videos with them a few hours before their arrest. During the interrogation, they admitted that they were sending the videos to Pakistan in exchange of some money. It is also being reported that the videos were being made that could help to prevent the safety of the station.

Earlier in the day, an exchange of fire between terrorists and security forces in Jammu and Kashmir was reported on Wednesday morning. Heavy firing broke out between security personnel and holed-up militants in Tazipora, Mohammadpora area of Kulgam district. One terrorist was killed in the gunfight, while it is further believed that two to three militants must be trapped in the area. The encounter is underway and as a precautionary measure, authorities have suspended mobile Internet services in Kulgam district.
