However, in USA, the process of election for President is different from the one in India.
The election of President and Vice President of the US is, technically, an indirect election. In this, citizens of the United States who are registered to vote in one of the fifty states or Washington, D.C. cast ballots for members of the U.S. Electoral College, known as electors.
In turn, these electors then cast direct votes, in their respective state capitals for President and Vice President. These votes are known as electoral votes. Each of the states casts as many electoral votes as the total number of Senators and House Representatives in Congress, while Washington, D.C. is represented by the same number of votes as the lowest-represented state, currently three.

It seems that real estate tycoon Donald Trump is hopeful that he will be the next President. In a recent tweet he hailed the election at Hampshire and said-"See you soon".
