Mumbai: Transfer of constables, police officers at various positions happens each year in the Mumbai Police department. But this year, Mumbai Police had decided that police officers who have worked in the same Commissionerate for more than 8 years will be transferred from one district to another.

For that reason, Mumbai Police prepared a list of 727 such officers who are to be transferred. In an official notice, Joint Commissioner of Police (Administration) Rajkumar Vhatkar had instructed the listed officers to submit three places of their choice for the new posting.

If sources are to be believed, this decision was taken after the arrest of Sachin Vaze, who was expelled from the police department in the Antilia bomb scare scandal. However, now this decision to transfer more than 700 city cops has been kept on hold.

Sources informed ABP News, that it was decided that the transfer of constables should be kept on hold as festivals like Ganpati Puja and Navratri are coming and the city would need more officers and there are already lying vacant positions. The decision is also taken as BMC elections are to be held soon.

Police sources informed, that no decision has been taken regarding the transfers of 727 people on the list. This can be implemented in the near future. Out of 727 employees, it is reported 89 senior police inspectors and ten sub-inspectors are on the list.
