"This Tiranga Yatra is a national festival. On PM Modi's call, we will take the tricolour to each and every house. All the BJP workers will participate in this initiative," Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva told PTI.
Under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) initiative, 'Har Ghar Tiranga' will be celebrated across the nation from August 13- 15, wherein people will be encouraged to hoist flags on the premises of homes, the Culture Ministry has said.
Ahead of the bike rally, Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal told ANI, "Every citizen should display the tricolour in their homes on August 15 and January 26. This is the duty of the citizens. This year August 15 is special because it marks the conclusion of 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav'".
On a similar note, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy stated that the citizens of India should display the tricolour at their homes on August 15 this year. “Since it is the concluding program of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, everyone should participate which is why from August 11 to August 15 all parts of the country will have a Tiranga yatra and other programmes. The beginning of Tiranga yatra is from Delhi today. “
'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' is an ongoing celebration to commemorate 75 glorious years of a progressive independent India. This initiative by the Government of India aims to bring in focus on the freedom struggle, and the milestones this nation has achieved, the ministry said.
