'Ticket aspirants must have 15k likes on FB page and 5k Twitter followers,' MP Congress directs party men

It states that candidates in upcoming polls must have 15,000 likes on their FB page, 5000 followers on Twitter and a WhatsApp group of booth-level workers. They also must like and retweet every post on MPCC's twitter account.

New Delhi: A letter issued by Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) to its workers, specifies that the ticket aspirants in elections must have a Facebook page with 15,000 likes. In the letter that has made its way to social media now, several criteria for the candidates in the upcoming polls have been laid down. The letter states that in order to enhance social media prominence, the party is taking several measures of late.  In accordance with this, being active on social media has been made a mandatory criterion for all the office-holders, MLAs and ticket aspirants of MPCC. It states that candidates in upcoming polls must have 15,000 likes on their FB page, 5000 followers on Twitter and a WhatsApp group of booth-level workers. They also must like and retweet every post on MPCC's twitter account. The image of the letter signed by MPCC vice president CP Shekhar was shared on Twitter by news agency ANI.   Party men have been asked to provide information related to  Whatsapp, Twitter and facebook to the IT cell by September 15.
