New Delhi: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has penned a patriotic song on the occasion of 75th anniversary of India's Independence. The song is written as an ode to the country’s unity. 


Taking to her Facebook page, Trinamool Congress Chief shared the song which is called “Desh ta sobar nijer" (This country belongs to us all). Mamata said that the song is sung by Indranil Sen, Monomoy Bhattacharya, Trisha Parui and Debojyoti Ghosh. 


"I pay my respects to the motherland on the 75th Independence Day of India. On this auspicious day, there was a song in my composition and thoughts for everyone. The tradition of unity, harmony and interfaith harmony has enhanced the pride of this country. Our oath today is to keep that tradition intact as citizens," CM Mamata further wrote in Bengali. 



Earlier today, Mamata in a Twitter post said "On the 75th Independence Day, let us all come together to strengthen our voices against all forces that aim to stifle our freedom. We must never forget the sacrifice of those who fought a long and hard battle for this day." 



Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday addressed the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort on the occasion of 75th anniversary of India's Independence from British Rule.  


In what is his eighth consecutive Independence Day address, PM Modi highlighted various aspects of India, lauded doctors, nurses & paramedical staff for dedicated services to battle Covid pandemic and announced some key measures for development in various sectors of the country.
