New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday said that some decisions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government might have been wrong but no question can be raised on the ruling dispensation’s intent.
“There could have been some wrong decisions, but no one can say that our intention was wrong,” Shah said addressing the 94th Annual General Meeting of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) in the national capital.
Asserting that the Central government’s intent has always been right, the Home Minister said even critics would agree that the country has seen a lot of changes in the last seven years.
“Even critics would agree that the country has seen a lot of changes in the last 7 years. No allegation of corruption has surfaced against our government,” he said.
Shah further said that the Centre took several policy decisions even during the Covid-19 pandemic, which he added will have a long-lasting positive impact on the country’s growth and development.
“I won't be surprised if our economic growth accelerates to double-digit,” he added, ANI reported.
Laying thrust on the need for giving special attention to the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector, the Home Minister said that it was critically important with regard to addressing the unemployment challenges.
“Unless we provide strength to the MSMEs we cannot address the problem of unemployment,” he added.
The Home Minister’s remarks came in the wake of the Central government’s recent decision to repeal the three controversial farm laws in view of the year-long agitation by the farmers’ unions.
