Security forces shot dead a terrorist in Jammu and Kashmir's Bandipora district on Tuesday, police said. Two security personnel were also injured in the exchange of fire. A police official said security forces launched a cordon-and-search operation in the Choontpathri forest area of Bandipora based on information about the presence of ultras there.






"Based on specific intelligence input regarding the presence of terrorists in general area Kaitsan forest, a Joint Operation was launched by IndianArmy, @JmuKmrPolice & @crpf_srinagar in general area Chuntawadi Kaitsan, #Bandipora. Contact was established and firefight ensued. Operation is in progress," Chinar Corps said in a post on X.
