New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the inaugural session of The Energy and Resources Institute’s (TERI) World Sustainable Development Summit (WSDS) on Wednesday seeking to reinforce the commitment to create a more sustainable and equitable world.
The prime minister will deliver his address via a video message around 6 pm, the PMO said.

What’s the focus of WSDS?
It is the institute's annual flagship event, and the theme for this year's summit is ‘Towards a Resilient Planet: Ensuring a Sustainable and Equitable Future’.
The 21st edition of WSDS is scheduled to be held from 16th-18th February 2022.
The summit will discuss a wide range of issues including climate change, sustainable production, energy transitions, global commons, and resource security.
The three-day summit starting Wednesday will be attended by Luis Abinader, President of the Dominican Republic; Mohamed Irfaan Ali, President of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana; Amina J Mohammed, Deputy Secretary-General, United Nations; heads of various intergovernmental organisations, and ministers and envoys from more than a dozen countries and delegates from over 120 countries, the PMO said.
The Summit will include ministerial sessions, youth plenary, women leadership plenary, corporate plenary, and thematic tracks. The event will also witness the release of the Ac4Earth Manifesto and Act4Earth Strategy Paper. The strategy paper will also serve the function of guiding activities under WSDS such as the COP27 Compass and SDG Charter.
It will be attended by dignitaries from Egypt, Maldives, and United Arab Emirates.
