The headmistress of a government school in Ranga Reddy district of Telangana has been suspended for allegedly permitting the celebration of former Chief Minister and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) president K Chandrasekhar Rao’s 71st birthday on school premises. The incident has sparked a political debate with BRS leaders criticising the suspension as biased and unjust.

The birthday celebration, held on Monday, was reportedly organised by a former corporator and involved students from the school. According to officials, the headmistress was suspended for failing to obtain prior approval from senior education department officials before allowing the event, as per a report on PTI. Authorities emphasised that political activities, including sloganeering, are prohibited on school premises as they disrupt classes and violate guidelines.

However, BRS Working President KT Rama Rao strongly condemned the suspension, calling it politically motivated. He questioned the action when official honours had been extended earlier to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s brother and Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka’s wife, despite their lack of official positions.

Meanwhile, KCR’s birthday was celebrated with grandeur across Telangana. At the BRS headquarters in Hyderabad, Rama Rao, along with other party leaders, cut a cake and raised slogans in honuor of the former Chief Minister.

Speaking at the event, Rama Rao urged party leaders and cadres to work diligently towards ensuring KCR’s return to the Chief Minister’s office.

In addition to party-led celebrations, BRS leaders and supporters undertook various social welfare initiatives across Telangana in honour of KCR’s birthday. Activities included tree plantation drives, blood donation camps, and other charitable events in different parts of the state.

On the political front, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar extended birthday wishes to KCR.
