According to reports, the Minister met his PA who showed symptoms of coronavirus, when he went to his office five days ago. The staff member then underwent a test that came back positive on Thursday.
Meanwhile, another MLA from the ruling party Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS has also tested positive. According to a report by IANS, the legislator, who represents a constituency in the united Warangal district, was admitted to a hospital in Hyderabad on Friday. The report says that he the first MLA in the state to have got infected by the virus.
The health department of the state is now tracing all the contacts that accompanied the MLA during his visit to his constituency on June 2 and 5 when he had gone to attend different programmes including Telangana Formation Day celebrations.
The department is using photos and videos from the celebrations for doing this.

Although the state does not come in the worst affected list, according to data by the Ministry of Health and Family Affairs, there is a total of 4484 cases with 2032 active cases and 174 fatalities.
The state government also announced the cancellation of the Class 10 exams. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao said that all class 10 students will be promoted without any examination. The students will be graded on the basis of their internal assessments.
