In the video, Rahul Gandhi can be seen narrating a story of an Uttar Pradesh farmer in the video. “A farmer from UP once asked me how it was possible that while he sold potatoes for Rs 2 per kilogram, his children bought packets of potato chips, with each one having chips worth one potato, for Rs 10 each,” he said.
“On being asked why he thought this was happening, the farmer said it was because they were unable to sell their products directly to the factories making chips. If there was provision for us to sell our products directly, without middlemen, all profit would reach us,” he added.

The three farm laws have been projected by the central government as major reforms in the agriculture sector that will remove the middlemen and allow farmers to sell their products anywhere in the country.
The agitation of farmers against the three agricultural laws passed by the Centre on Sunday entered its 32nd continuous day. The protesting farmers have hardened their stance again, while the Centre continues to back the laws.
On Saturday, the farmers accepted the government’s proposal for the sixth round of talks. The meeting is scheduled to be held on December 29.
