Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday stated that a country's war readiness requires quick and transparent decision-making as well as the availability of optimal resources, news agency ANI reported.

Addressing the Controllers’ Conference organised by Defence Accounts Department, Singh said: "We're aware that for combat readiness of the country, not only availability of adequate financial resources but also quick & transparent decision-making for it is important."

"A delay in decision-making causes a loss of time as well as money. Besides that, it also adversely affects the country's combat readiness. Defence Accounts Department plays a very important role towards ensuring this," he said.

In his talk to the Defence Accounts Department's (DAD) Controllers' Conference 2022, Singh also stated that delaying a decision costs both time and money, and has an impact on combat preparedness.

The world's resources are finite, according to the defence minister, who emphasised the importance of using them with "financial prudence."

He went on to say that resources should be used wisely and that there should be no waste.

''A penny saved is a penny earned, and this applies fully to resources too. You are aware that for a country's combat readiness, not only availability of optimal resources is required, but swift and transparent decision-making is also needed,'' Singh was quoted by PTI in its report.
