In the picture above, the man sitting on sofa is a Karnataka-based businessman Srinivas Murthy, the lady sitting next to him draping pink silk saree is his wife ‘Madhavi’. A picture perfect image of a happy couple on the occasion of their house-warming party or the traditional grih-pravesh. However, what we see is not always true. The lady in the picture is not real. in fact, it’s the human-size silicone statue of the lady, that Srinivas Murthy got installed in his new home to honour her memories.

Murthy is a resident of Koppal, Karnataka. His wife died in an accident three years ago, an accident that had left the family broken, so he made a statue of his wife in the foyer so that she would not be missed upon entering the house.

The Griha Pravesh ceremony was held on August 8 and the guests who attended the event were surprised and were left speechless on seeing the life-like statue of the deceased lady on entering the house.

Check out some images from the ceremony. The statue bears very close similarity to a real human and in the first glance it is difficult to tell the difference.

As per reports, Srinivas had sought ideas and suggestions from a number of architects to give  attribute to his wife in the new house, but none could really convince him. Finally on suggestion of an architect he hired the services of Gombe Mane, toymakers of Bengaluru city, who had also done some work for the popular Tontadarya Mutt in Gadag.
