SpiceJet said on Wednesday that its flights are likely to be affected in several states across India due to dense fog resulting in poor visibility. The airlines stated that flights may get delayed in states including Delhi, Punjab, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh.

"Due to the expected poor visibility in Delhi (DEL), Amritsar (ATQ), Varanasi (VNS), Gorakhpur (GOP), Patna (PAT), Bagdogra (IXB), Darbhanga (DBR), Guwahati (GAU), and Kolkata (CCU), all departures/arrivals and their consequential flights may get affected," the airlines said on X.

Meanwhile, fog continues to hit flight and train operations in North India including the national capital leaving passengers stuck at airports and railway stations.

On Wednesday, several flights and trains got either dealyed or cancelled due to fog in several parts of the country. Around 110 flights, both domestic and international to and from Delhi were delayed while 25 were cancelled due to dense fog in the last 10 hours as on Wednesday morning, reported IANS quoting airport sources as saying.

As flight and train schedules took a hit, several passengers could be seen waiting at air and rail terminals for their journey.

In another incident pertaining to SpiceJet, a passenger was stuck inside an aircraft lavatory mid-air for almost an hour, as reported by news agency PTI. A cabin crew slipped in a note saying "do not panic," and finally the passenger came out after an engineer opened the door on landing at the Bengaluru airport.

The incident took place on Tuesday due to the malfunctioning of the lavatory door, which led to the passenger getting stuck onboard the flight from Mumbai to Bengaluru. The flight was operated with a Boeing 737-8 aircraft.

SpiceJet apologised for the inconvenience caused to the passenger and will also provide a full refund.

As the passenger kept waiting in the lavatory, a cabin crew slipped in a note asking the passenger not to panic and that despite trying their best, the door could not be opened. "Do not panic, we are landing in few mins, so please close the comode lid and sit on it and secure urself as soon as the main door is open, engineer will come. Do not panic," the handwritten note widely shared on social media said, as quoted by PTI.
