New Delhi: Putting an end to the speculation of a change in the post of the leader of the Congress party in the Lok Sabha, the party's top sources have made it clear that there will be no change at the moment. During the upcoming monsoon Parliamentary session, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury will remain the leader of the Congress party in the Lok Sabha.

An official source in the Congress party told ABP News, less than a week is left for the Parliament session and in such a situation it is not possible to change the leader of the party in Lok Sabha.

Adhir Ranjan will also be present in the meeting of the "Parliamentary Strategy Group" convened by Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday evening to chalk out a strategy for the monsoon session.

Keeping in mind his seniority, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, the MP from Murshidabad in West Bengal, was made the leader of the party in the 17th Lok Sabha elected in 2019 by the Congress leadership.

Before the West Bengal assembly elections, Adhir Ranjan was once again given the command of the Bengal Congress. Since then, on the basis of the "one person one post" formula, speculations were being made that Congress may change the leader of the party in the Lok Sabha.

However, in the last winter session and budget session, Adhir Ranjan stayed the leader of Congress in the Lok Sabha. But after the crushing defeat of the Congress in the West Bengal elections, people were speculating that Adhir would be removed from the post of leader of the Congress party in the Lok Sabha.

There were speculations about replacing him with Ravneet Bittu, Manish Tewari, Shashi Tharoor, and Gaurav Gogoi. However, these speculations have been put to rest by the top sources of Congress. But the question still remains whether Congress can replace Adhir Ranjan with a new face in the future as the leader of the party in the Lok Sabha.
