New Delhi: Hours after BJP demanded CBI investigation against former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav for his alleged involvement in a mining scam, claiming that his government was "hand in glove" with the accused in the case; both SP and BSP showcased their support for Akhilesh via press conference on Monday.


The opposition has now united against the ruling Bharatiya Janta Party government in the state as senior Samajwadi leader Ram Gopal Yadav addressed media, along with BSP leader Satish Mishra and claimed that CBI is being misused against Akhilesh.

Speaking on the allegations levied on former UP CM, Yadav said “Akhilesh’s name is also not there”. Claiming that the government is accusing Akhilesh’s because of it its “insecurity over close ties between BSP and SP”, he said “UP government minister comes to Delhi to hold a press conference, this is the situation when the formal alliance hasn’t been announced”.

He further added saying “It will get difficult for PM to hold elections from UP”.

Pointing out at the ongoing feud in CBI, The leader further claimed that the investigation agency is being “misused”; “Constitutional institutes are being misused, CBI has been divided in two parts” he added.
