In a video clip from the meeting of AICC general secretaries and state-incharges which she presided over, Sonia Gandhi said that her party's aim is to keep struggling for the country.
"The Congress party's goal has been to fight continuously for the country. Serving the country is the core of our party. Today, the democracy of the country is going through a difficult phase, the voice of the families suffering in the country is being suppressed," Congress leader said.
Launching a scathing attack on the government over the recently launched three farm bills, Sonia Gandhi said that the Bharatiya Janata Party led dispensation has attacked the very foundation of India's resilient agrarian economy by bringing in "three anti-agriculture black laws".
Three farm bills -- The Farmers'' Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill, 2020, The Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm Services Bill, 2020 and The Essential Commodities (Amendment) Bill, 2020 recently after beng passed by the Parliament, received assent from President Ram Nath Kovind despite nationwide protest against the laws.
Several parties and even political experts believe that without the Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) acting as a protective shield around the farmers, the market would ultimately fall to the corporate greed of multinational companies who are more profit-oriented and have no care for the conditions of poverty-stricken farmers dependent on farming for their livelihood.

Besides raising the issue over the three farm bills, Gandhi also spoke about the economy and the management of the COVID-19 pandemic. Gandhi aserted that the country was "pushed into the 'abyss' of coronavirus pandemic by "sheer ineptitude" and "mismanagement" of the Modi government."
