New Delhi: A day after Tamil Nadu's AIADMK snapped ties with BJP-led NDA, the saffron party exuded confidence over its newly formed alliance with Janata Dal (Secular) ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

Earlier on Friday, the decision was announced by BJP national President J P Nadda after meeting with JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy.

Speaking of the AIADMK-BJP split, Union Minister Anurag Thakur on Tuesday said, "BJP has taken along its allies like a family. Many parties like JD(S) are also joining (NDA). The NDA was strong in 2014 as well as 2019, and both times, it formed the government (at the Centre) with full majority. PM Modi-led NDA will form the government in 2024 too."

Union Minister Arjun Munda expressed his confidence in the NDA alliance, saying that the "caravan keeps moving, some will join and some will leave but the NDA is intact."

BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla said that the opposition bloc I.N.D.I.A is a forced alliance.

"Their (INDIA) alliance is a forced coalition. There are INDI alliance governments in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu but there is a dispute going on over the Cauvery water," he said.

Meanwhile, Karnataka Minister and Congress leader Dinesh Gundu Rao claimed that JD (S) as a party will collapse now as it has joined hands with BJP.

"For them, BJP has become a liability and that action I think AIADMK has taken. Also here JDS joining the BJP will finish off JDS. JDS as a party will collapse now. They do not know the danger but BJP will finish off JDS, that's what my prediction is," he said.
