New Delhi: Delhi Police has identified six shooters in Sidhu Moose Wala murder case, Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) HS Dhaliwal said on Friday, news agency PTI reported. As per the report, Dhaliwal, during a media briefing, said that the police had issued eight pictures of the suspects and six of the shooters have been identified. Out of the six, the role of four in the murder has been established, he said.
He further said that the Punjabi singer's death was an organised and brazen killing.
According to reports, several arrests have been made in the case so far, police said. Among the people arrested was a person who had impersonated himself as a fan and took selfie with the singer and later shared information about Moose Wala to the shooters, the police further added.
Earlier, the Delhi Police said gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, currently in its custody, was the mastermind behind Sidhu Moose Wala's murder. A close associate of the main shooter involved in the brutal killing in Punjab's Mansa last month has also been arrested, police added.
Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, Dhaliwal had said that they have identified five more people involved in the murder case.
As per reports, Punjab Police has formed more than six teams to conduct raids in three states - Haryana, Maharashtra and Rajasthan, and also Punjab, to arrest six sharpshooters who are said to be involved in the crime.
Out of the six wanted sharpshooters who killed Moose Wala on May 29, two belonged to Punjab, police said.
At least eight persons have been arrested by the police in connection with the case. The police says that these people had provided logistical support, conducted recce and harboured shooters of Moose Wala.
Those arrested have been identified as Sandeep Singh, alias Kekda, of Sirsa, Haryana; Manpreet Singh, alias Manna, of Talwandi Sabo, Bathinda; and Manpreet Bhau of Dhaipai, Faridkot, reported news agency PTI.
Others who have been arrested are Saraj Mintu of Dode Kalsia village, Amritsar; Prabhdeep Sidhu, alias Pabbi, of Takhat-Mall, Haryana; Monu Dagar of Rewli village in Sonipat, Haryana; Pawan Bishnoi and Naseeb, both residents of Fatehabad, Haryana.
