Punjab Police had sought issuance of a Red Corner Notice (RCN) against Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar, who has claimed responsibility for the murder of Sidhu Moose Wala, just 10 days before the killing of the singer, PTI reported. Goldy Brar is a close aide of gang leader Lawrence Bishnoi, who is presently lodged in Tihar Jail.

Punjab Police officials on Wednesday said the Red Corner Notice was sought against Goldy Brar in two separate cases registered against him in Faridkot. Two cases had been registered against Brar in November 2020 and February 2021 on the charges of murder, attempt to murder and the Arms Ac, PTI reported.

Brar, whose real name is Satenderjeet Singh, belongs to Muktsar and is believed to be hiding in Canada. Moose Wala, who had unsuccessfully contested the Punjab assembly polls on a Congress ticket, was shot dead last month at Jawaharke village in Punjab's Mansa district.

A Red Corner Notice is issued by the Interpol following a request through the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the international organisation's nodal agency in India. A Red Corner Notice is issued to seek the location and arrest of persons wanted for prosecution or to serve a sentence in a country.
