New Delhi: The Goa cops on Saturday made 2 arrests in a bone-chilling gang-rape case where, a woman in her 20s was allegedly gang-raped by three men on a beach in South Goa district. The incident reportedly took place in front of the victim’s boyfriend.

As per the cops, one suspect is still at large.

As per a news agency, the incident took place on Thursday night at the Sernabhatim beach, which is at a distance of 50 km from the state capital Panaji.

The incident took place when the couple was approached by the 3 accused men on the beach and started getting aggressive, threatening them. Thereafter, the accused allegedly started stripping the couple, taking their photographs and began to demand money from them.

Therafter, the three men gang-raped the woman in front of her boyfriend; confirmed a police official.

South Goa Superintendent of Police Arvind Gawas told PTI that the woman had been sent for medical examination, and reports are awaited.

The incident has come as a shocker, as Goa is a very popular tourist destination, As per reports, as many as 15 rape cases have been reported in South Goa in 2018 so far.
