Ladakh: In a courageous act, SHO Nyoma Inspector Jamyang Tsephel and the team of Nyoma Police Station, with the help of BRO team, yesterday rescued 27 people including truck drivers, helpers, and 2 domestic tourists who were stuck at Lachung La top due to heavy snowfall.
The team helped 8 trucks to be kept aside on Lachung La top and 7 trucks were later halted at Spang. After rescuing all the stuck drivers, helpers, and passengers, 11 drivers were kept at a dhabha at Spang and the rest managed to stay in their own vehicles at Spang.

3 among them with bad health conditions were admitted to PHC Nyoma and medical facilities were provided to them.
All the rescued people are in good health now. The whole rescue operation was conducted under the direct supervision of SSP Leh Rajiv Pandey-IPS. The rescue operation was also very much supported by DC Leh Srikant Suse-IAS and his team of Civil Administration.
The Additional Director General of Police UT Ladakh Sh. Satish Khandare-IPS and SSP Leh Sh. Rajiv Pandey has appreciated the role of SHO Nyoma and his team for this act which resulted in timely rescue and rehabilitation of the trapped passengers saving their precious lives.
