New Delhi: BJP leader Mohit Kamboj Friday alleged that the car in which he was travelling was attacked by some miscreants at Mumbai's Kalanagar Junction. Kamboj called the attack an attempt by the ruling Shiv Sena and Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to kill him, reported news agency ANI.

"This was an attempt to kill me by Shiv Sena and Maharashtra CM, so as to suppress my voice. Will see what action will be taken by Mumbai Police. Everything has been recorded on the CCTV," said the BJP leader .

A complaint by the BJP leader has been filed with the local police in this regard.

Kamboj also alleged that the Uddhav Thackeray led Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government in Maharashtra is worse than that of TMC in West Bengal.

"My car was attacked at Kalanagar Junction by a mob. We managed to flee. Governance in Maharashtra proving to be worse than that in Bengal. Opposition leaders who expose corrupt ministers like Nawab Malik are being attacked by the state government...I condemn it," Kamboj said.

Kamboj in the past has levelled allegations against Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) ministers of having links with 'drug mafias'.

In February, a case was filed against the BJP leader at the Santacruz Police station on charges of violating the Arms Act and for breaking Covid-19 rules, reported ANI.

The FIR was filed against Kamboj after he was seen brandishing a sword after NCP leader Nawab Malik was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

ED had arrested Malik on February 23 under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) over alleged  links to the aides of gangster Dawood Ibrahim.
