Congress Member of Parliament, Shashi Tharoor, conveyed his heartfelt gratitude on Sunday following his inclusion as a full member of the Congress Working Committee, the paramount decision-making body of the grand political party. The induction of Shashi Tharoor, along with other top party leaders such as Sachin Pilot and Manish Tewari, into the Congress Working Committee comes in anticipation of the forthcoming high-stakes electoral season.
Expressing his appreciation, Tharoor acknowledged Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge for bestowing this honour upon him. In his role as a full-fledged participant in the Congress Working Committee, Tharoor joins colleagues in steering the party's significant decisions.
In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Tharoor said: "I am honoured by the decision of the President Shri Mallikarjun Kharge ji and the Congress central leadership to nominate me to the Working Committee. As one who is aware of the historic role played by the CWC in guiding the party over the last 138 years, I am humbled and grateful to be part of this institution, and look forward to the opportunity to serve the party alongside my dedicated colleagues."
"None of us can accomplish anything without the lakhs of committed workers who are the lifeblood of the party. Today, above all, I bow to them. The countless Indians who seek a more inclusive and accepting India deserve the best from us," he added further.

This reconstitution of the Congress Working Committee marks a significant event, with the previous formation dated back to September 11, 2020, during the tenure of Sonia Gandhi's presidency.
The current reshaped committee constitutes the first Working Committee under Mallikarjun Kharge's leadership. Several notable exclusions from the new CWC lineup include ex-MP from Rajasthan Raghuveer Singh Meena, Jai Prakash Aggarwal, Dinesh Gundu Rao, H K Patil, K H Muniappa, P L Punia, Pramod Tiwari, and Raghu Sharma.
