A day after Sharad Pawar announced his decision to step down as the NCP president, senior party leader Praful Patel said he was not interested in the post. "I am not ready to take on the responsibility of the presidency. I am not interested in the post of president," Patel said.
"It is not decided yet who will be in the state and centre…. We are trying to change his(Sharad Pawar) mind… Ajit Pawar, Supriya Sule has said that Sharad Pawar should remain the President of NCP," NCP leader Anil Patil, as quoted by ANI.

"Sharad Pawar's resignation is a big shock for the country's politics. But if such a decision is taken by him, then definitely there will be panic in Maharashtra and the country. This is a very important step since he has been NCP chief for 25 years. His nephew Ajit Pawar said that they will discuss among themselves to decide on the steps to be taken now."

Balasaheb had to withdraw his resignation due to public outrage. Sharad Pawar is the soul of the country's politics and social causes."
