New Delhi: Several orders of Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena are illegal in the light of the 2018 Supreme Court's decisions, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Friday after their meeting.

“LG's interference is increasing. The government works here are not being done that is causing inconvenience to people of Delhi. We want to work together by sorting out our mutual differences. With this intention, I met the LG today,” CM Kejriwal said.

“There is no independent authority vested in LG to take decisions. In some matters, he can act as a judicial authority,” Kejriwal said.

The chief minister further said that the decision to nominate 10 councilors ahead of the MCD mayoral elections was wrong. He further said sealing of Delhi Dialogue and Development Commission Vice Chairman Jasmine Shah's office and issuing of notice demanding Rs 164 crore in recovery for ad expenses, are "illegal and unconstitutional".

"However, he said that he has been referred to as the 'Administrator' and enjoys supreme authority," Kejriwal said.

The chief minister further said that he informed LG Saxena that salaries of the employees at many government departments have been stalled in the last three months. DTC and Jal Board employees, and the government hospital staffers are not getting their salary either. Things have gone awry, Kejriwal said.

"Officials said that they had been unofficially told to do so. This was done to hurt the AAP in the polls," he alleged. CM Kejriwal urged LG Saxena to keep politics aside and said that he wants to work with him.

“I have suggested to the LG that he should keep an advisor with him who understands the constitution and the law, so that he can know the right things and in this way does not stop the work by going against the law and the constitution,” Kejriwal added.
