“I have resigned from TMC. I will not be joining any party at the moment,” Faleiro told The Indian Express.
Long being sidelined from the party affairs in Goa, Faleiro was being nudged by the TMC leadership to resign from the Rajya Sabha, according to PTI.
When the TMC made a much-hyped foray in the coastal state, it had asked Rajya Sabha MP Arpita Ghosh, who had a term till 2026, to quit and sent Faleiro to the Upper House in 2021.
Faleiro joined the All-India Trinamool Congress in September 2021 after quitting the Congress party. He was then appointed the national Vice President of the party by Mamata Banerjee and two months later given a Rajya Sabha ticket replacing Trinamool MP Arpita Ghosh.
