New Delhi: Senior Samajwadi Party leader Naresh Agarwal may join Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday, reported news agency ANI citing sources.
Agarwal represents the state of Uttar Pradesh and has been Member of the Legislative Assembly from Hardoi constituency for seven terms.
Agrawal has been a MLA for seven terms from 1980 to 2012 (except 1985 to 1989).
Till 1989, Agrawal was a member of Indian National Congress. He is currently a member of the Rajya Sabha from Uttar Pradesh.
It is pertinent to mention here that on Sunday, Chief Minister of the party Akhilesh Yadav had announced party manifesto.
It may be recalled that during fight between Akhilesh Yadav and Mulayam Singh Yadav, Naresh Agarwal took side of Akhilesh.
He also, recently, expressed desire that Samajwadi Party and Congress should form an alliance.
