Uttar Pradesh: After Mulayam Singh skipped the event of Samajwadi Party’s manifesto release for the upcoming UP elections, leaving the chair next to Akhilesh Yadav vacant throughout the event; Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav posted a picture with father Mulayam on social media where he can be seen with wife Dimple and Azam Khan holding the manifesto.

UP CM Akhilesh Yadav will begin campaigning for the forthcoming elections from Tuesday. He is also set to do fourteen rallies with Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi.

After details about Congress-SP alliance emerged, it came to light that Priyanka Gandhi played a major role in getting the deal between the two parties finalised.

Congress has agreed on fighting for 105 seats in UP, whereas Samajwadi Party agreed on 298 seats.

It can now also be expected that Akhilesh’s wife Dimple Yadav and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will be seen sharing the same stage in Uttar Pradesh while campaigning for the forthcoming elections.

Candidate lists that were subsequently released by the two parties reflected a spirit of give and take.

The Samajwadis announced two candidates in Amethi and three in Rae Bareli, leaving for the Congress five seats in the parliamentary constituencies of Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi. This means the alliance partners have equally split the 10 seats in Amethi and Rae Bareli.

The Congress later announced its first list of 41 candidates for the first and second phases. The list mentions Mukesh Chaudhary as the party nominee from the Deoband seat.
