New Delhi: The Coronavirus pandemic has severely crippled the functioning of most countries in the world including India. PM Narendra Modi had imposed a 21-day nationwide lockdown to combat the further spread of COVID-19 and there's an overwhelming view that extending the lockdown is the only solution right now. The number of Coronavirus positive cases has alarmingly increased in the past few days and everyone's tense and worried about what their future holds. According to the Union Health Ministry on Saturday (April 11, 2020), the death toll stands at 242 in India while only 652 among the several thousands have recovered. While several people have the luxury of staying safely locked at their homes with all the important items stocked up; there are many senior citizens and senile individuals who need our help during this testing period.

We at Robin Hood Army along with ABP News have resolved to provide food and medicines to the elderly people under the initiative ‘Senior Patrol’. At a time when people have been left high and dry due to the COVID-19 outbreak, Robin Hood Army has come forward to help those aged people, who live alone or away from their children, with a passionate team of 60,000 Robins (as our volunteers are called).

We have a strict no-funds approach, we scale up through partnerships and volunteers.

The team at Robin Hood Army has created an online form through which anyone can make a request for essentials (primarily food & medicines) for their aged relatives in another city. You will have to fill in basic details like your name, relative’s name, city, your requirement and other things.

Here’s the link to the Senior Patrol form

After filling the form, you will be redirected to Robin Hood Army of Robins across neighbourhoods in India, who will do their best to ensure that the essential items reach to your relatives. Within 48 hours, the Robins will try to fulfil the request and that too in the safest possible manner. We have to inform you that the team will follow all Coronavirus health and safety precautions.

In case, you live far away from your old parents and elderly relatives, you need not fret about it. Robin Hood Army will ensure that their needs are met during the unprecedented times.

Some of our teams are working in partnership with the Government and local authorities in order to serve those on the verge of starvation in these trying times. Our volunteers will follow all health & safety norms, in addition to all permissions and licenses required to be out and serve.

Coronavirus pandemic has brought the world to a standstill and we need to fight it together. At the same time, we also need to ease the distress of our elderly people, who have given us so much love and warmth.

With the help of social media in five years we have served food to 30 million people across 180+ cities in 13 countries.

We request ABP News' viewers and the readers of this article to promote the initiative and help those, who are in need.
