The security forces in the Jammu region are on high alert as drones were spotted at three places on the outskirts of the city last night and in the early hours of Wednesday.

The first drone was sighted at Miran Sahib around 9:23 p.m. on Tuesday, Indian Express reported, adding the second and third drones were sighted at 4:40 a.m. and 4:52 a.m. in Kaluchak and Kunjwani areas on Wednesday.

This comes as the local police and security forces are prepared in the region following Sunday’s drone attack at the Jammu Indian Air Force (IAF) Station.

Earlier on Tuesday morning, a drone was sighted over Ratnuchak, Kaluchak, and Kunjwani areas.

The Army earlier on Monday claimed to have spotted drones flying over Kaluchak and Ratnuchak military stations. The Indian Army troops opened fire on the two drones hovering over the Ratnuchak-Kaluchak military area in Jammu.

Jammu-based Army spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Devender Anand in a statement said an alert was sounded immediately and Quick Reaction Teams of the Army engaged the drones firing at them.

He added that both drones flew away after alert sentries fired at them.

Stating that “a major threat was averted by the alertness and proactive approach of troops”, Lieutenant Colonel Anand added that security forces were on high alert.
