New Delhi: A Pakistani drone was sighted in Indian air space on Monday night, near the Punjab border, prompting the security forces to remain on an alert vigil.
The Border Security Force (BSF) personnel at Firozpur Hussainwala border post spotted a drone last night entering from Pakistan’s side to India’s side, ANI reported citing sources in BSF.
A search operation is on after BSF informed Punjab Police. The local police is investigating the matter.
The drone was spotted near HK Tower a check post on the Hussainwala border in Ferozepur.
As per sources the drone was seen entering into Indian border from Pakistan at 12:25 am on Tuesday midnight.
Before that it was seen hovering along the border between 10 pm to 10:40 pm on Monday night.
Search operations are going on to find whether the drones were used to supply drugs or ammunitions.
The sighting comes a week after Punjab government recovered two drones used in dropping weapons from across the border.
Earlier, the security agencies had confirmed that Pakistan used drones to send arms and ammunition across the border using Khalistan Zindabad Force (KZF) network in the second week of September.
The entire process was supported by Pakistan’s ISI.
