In what comes as yet another resounding win for the security forces in thwarting the nefarious designs of terrorists operating in the Kashmir Valley, J&K police busted another Narco-terror group in North Kashmir and recovered huge quantities of Drugs, Arms and Ammunition as well. Two terror associates who were carrying the drugs have also been arrested.


According to J&K police, acting on a tip-off, a trap was laid in Kupwara and a suspected vehicle was stopped. During the search of the vehicle, troops recovered around 13.5 Kg of narcotics, two pistols and 4 grenades from the vehicle. The value of the drugs is around 65 crore rupees.

Two people, travelling in the car were also immediately arrested, who revealed that the consignment of drugs was sent from Pakistan and the money from the sale of the narcotics was to be handed over to an active militant of Lashkar.

This is the second major haul of drugs in North Kashmir, as police had busted another Pakistan sponsored narco terror module in the Handwara area on June 10. The module was operating in many states across the country and at least 5 Lashkar terror associates were arrested with 21KG heroin valued around 100 crore and 1.34 crore Indian currency.

The case is now being investigated by National Investigation Agency (NIA).
