According to the forces, the cache of arms included one Pika gun along with nine rounds of ammunition, one UMG Rifle, one 9 MM pistol with 24 rounds of ammunition, one magazine of AK -47, 237 rounds of AK-47 ammunition, one chili grenade, 32 rounds of INSAS ammunition and other warlike stores.

However, it is not clear whether the weapons are newly acquired from across the border or an old cache. The police are also investigating the connection of the militant organisation to which the hideout belonged.

Security forces say that the recovery was the outcome of the ongoing efforts of the Indian Army to thwart any attempts by terrorists to destabilize peace and development in South Kashmir. The area is being searched extensively as the operation is still in progress.
