New Delhi: The Supreme Court has imposed Rs 25,000 cost on Delhi Health Minister for not filing the affidavit on officials who failed to check dengue in the national capital.

However, in response Satyendra Jain of Aam Aadmi Party sought 24 hours to file the affidavit.

The apex court said-"When people are dying, you don't need 24 hours".

It is worth mentioning here that the Delhi had been gripped under the Dengue and Chikungunya and opposition parties had alleged that the state government turned blind eye towards the plight of Delhiites.

Jain, on Friday, had filed a personal affidavit claiming that officers were not taking orders from him, disabling his government from effectively tackling the diseases. Responding to this, the bench said Jain must adduce names of all such officers and that merely making such claims won’t do.
