NEW DELHI: Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain’s daughter Soumya Jain on Thursday resigned from her post as the in-charge for the Delhi government's Mohalla Clinics following furore over her appointment by opposition.
"She was not getting any kind of benefits not even a single rupee. After all the noise made about her working in Mohalla clinic project, she has resigned," said Satyendra Jain.
Both, BJP and Congress had questioned the appointment of 26-year-old Soumya Jain because of her lack of experinece in this field and her being a minister's daughter.
“This exposes the real face of Arvind Kejriwal, and this is not the first time that AAP volunteers and workers have been given cozy positions in the government.” BJP leader Harish Khurana had said.
The AAP-led Delhi government, working on neighbourhood clinic concept, has opened 100 Mohalla Clinics in different parts of the national capital. It aims to increase the number of these clinics to 1,000 by the end of this year.
