New Delhi: Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut has appealed to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Anti Corruption Bureau of Maharashtra government to jointly interrogate Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Kirit Somaiya for allegedly running an "extortion racket".

Sanjay Raut, on Wednesday took to twitter and demanded the investigating agencies to probe Kirit Somaiya's involvement. He also said that several victims of Somaiya's extortion racket have started to come out in the open and therefore he must be probed.

"Skeletons are tumbling out of the closet. Self-proclaimed crusader Kirit Somaiya himself is alleged of blackmailing. Victims of Somaiya's extortion racket are now speaking up. I appeal the #CBI & #anticorruptionBureau of Mah'tra govt to jointly investigate Kirit's dirty extortion game," said Raut in his tweet.

Raut's demand for an investigation has come a day after he levelled allegations against the Bharatiya Janata Party. During a press meet held on Tuesday, Raut said that the BJP is using central agencies to trouble Shiv Sena and people associated with the party including their family members and friends.

He also hit out Kirit Somaiya and his son alleging their involvement in the multi-crore Punjab and Maharashtra Co-operative (PMC) Bank fraud case and demanded their arrest.

"BJP's Kirit Somaiya and his son should be arrested in connection with the PMC bank fraud case. To whom does Nikon Infra Construction company belong? PMC case accused Rakesh Wadhwan and Somaiya's son are partners in this company," alleged Raut.

Reacting to Raut’s allegations, Kirit Somaiya denied the charges made against him and said that the Shiv Sena has attempted to defame him and his family in the past too.
