Hyderabad police summoned 'Pushpa 2' actor Allu Arjun to appear for questioning in connection with the Sandhya theater stampede incident on Tuesday. The stampede took place during the screening of 'Pushpa 2' on December 4 which claimed the life of a 35-year-old woman and led to serious injuries to her eight-year-old son. Chikkadpally Police Inspector Raju Naik confirmed that the actor has been asked to appear at 11 AM.

The Hyderabad police, investigating the case, have charged Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) following a complaint from the deceased’s family, as per a report on PTI.

On Monday, the case took a significant turn when Police Commissioner CV Anand released video footage outlining the sequence of events leading to the stampede. Subsequently, Allu Arjun, named as Accused No. 11, was arrested on December 13 in connection with the incident. However, Telangana High Court granted him interim bail for four weeks and he was released from custody on December 14.

The actor who has expressed willingness to cooperate with the investigation is expected to provide clarity on his role and the circumstances surrounding the tragedy during his appearance before the authorities.

Meanwhile, six students reportedly threw tomates and created a ruckus at actor's residence on Sunday. Following this, all the six of them were arrested. On Monday, Hyderabad court granted bail to the six people and beefed up the security at Allu Arjun's residence. However, the incident resulted in a political slugfest and the opposition--BRS and BJP--attacked Congress government. They also claimed that the attackers belonged to Kodangal assembly, the constituency of CM Revanth Reddy.

Denying the allegations, Congress MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy said, "We do not know why they have carried out the vandalism. Why should we provoke and send them."
