Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan praised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi calling him a brave and honest politician. The actor, who is known for his performance in movies like Dil Chahta Hai, Race and Adipurush, lauded the Leader Of the Opposition for turning the people's perception of him around.
When asked by the interviewer about what kind of a politician he liked, Saif responded by saying, “I like a brave politician, I like an honest politician.”
The host then asked if Saif Ali Khan saw any political stars on the horizon from PM Narendra Modi, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and asked him which leader could take India into the future, to which the Bollywood star replied, "I think they are all brave politicians. I think what Rahul Gandhi has done has also been very impressive because, there's a point where people were disrespecting things he was saying and things he was doing and I think he's turned that around by working very hard in a very interesting way," Saif Ali Khan said in an interview to India Today.
The actor also spoke about his politics and thoughts on Indian democracy.
"I don't want to get into a thing of who I support and what my politics is because I want to be apolitical in my Outlook... I'm happy about one thing that the democracy is alive and thriving in India," he added.
Saif Ali Khan spoke on a range of topics, including the South Indian cinema, social media, his entry in Bollywood and his film Adipurush.
He also revealed why he aversion to social media platforms like Instagram. Khan expressed his preference for staying offline and said, "For me personally, if I was to take pictures of a moment, it destroys the moment for me."
"I really like kind of enjoying my life. Sometimes you're having dinner or you're doing something with the kids, and even if my wife says, 'Okay, can we take a picture,' the kids, me, all of us are like, 'No, you either shoot something or you experience it," he added.
