New Delhi: Malegaon blast accused and BJP’s Lok Sabha candidate from Bhopal, Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur, received grand welcome by people of Muslim community during her road show in Bhopal on Saturday.
Sadhvi held a roadshow in old Bhopal which is pre-dominantly a Muslim locality.


An overwhelmed Pragya, said that the response from the people was an evidence of unity between communities.

Two days ago Pragya in her statement regarding Muslims had said “Muslims are with us and those who are conspiring will never succeed.”

Pragya Singh Thakur, conducted a roadshow in Hathi Khana area of Bhopal, on Saturday.

Union Minister for water and sanitation Uma Bharti on Saturday made a sarcastic jibe against Sadhvi Pragya when she was asked whether Thakur is going to take her place in politics. Bharti said: “She (Pragya) is a great saint, while I am just a foolish person . Do not compare me to her.”

NCP also targeted the BJP over fielding of Pragya. In Mumbai, NCP general secretary Jitendra Awhad said that fielding Pragya Singh Thakur in the Lok Sabha elections is a "tactical mistake" of the BJP.

Thakur was fielded from Bhopal Lok Sabha, constituency against Congress' Digvijay Singh to cover up failures of the Narendra Modi government, he said.

Fielding her is a tactical mistake for which they will have to pay a heavy price. This country's structure is secular and people don't like absolute right-wingers and hate-mongers," he said.

Thakur, submitted her nomination on Tuesday. Her criminal records include an FIR (No. 130/2008) against her filed at the Azad Nagar police station in Malegaon in Nashik district of Maharashtra.Thakur is accused in the 2008 Malegaon blast case, in which 7 people were killed. She is presently out on bail.
