Kolkata: Bharatiya Janta Party Chief Amit Shah on Monday claimed that Malegaon blast accused Sadhvi Pragya was falsely framed and the image of Hindu culture is getting maligned. While addressing a press conference in Kolkata, Shah said “False case was filed against Pragya and an attempt to tarnish the image of Hindu culture was made”.

The statement came a day before voting for third phase is set to take place in Kolkata on Wednesday.

“As far as Sadhvi Pragya is concerned, I would like to say that a false case was made against her in the name of Hindu terror, and the image of entire country’s culture was tarnished in front of the world” Shah said.

He further added saying, “The same was also proven false in court”.

BJP boss further said “When a false case was filed against Swami Aseemanand ji and others by making them accused, then where are the people who were held for Samjhauta Express blast? Why were they scot free?”

Shah further said that “The voting for the first two phases for the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections has already taken place and the voting for the 3rd phase will take place on tomorrow (April 23). As per the information we are receiving from all over the country, people are excited to again elect Modi ji as the Prime Minister”.

The statement comes after BJP contestant from Bhopal; Sadhvi Pragya made controversial statement against martyr Hemant Karkare, who lost his life fighting for the country during Mumbai terror attacks. Speaking on Karkare, Sadhvi Pragya had said “Karkare died during terror attacks as he was cursed by her”; she further retracted her statement after receiving backlash.
