New Delhi: Bharatiya Janta Party MP Sadhvi Pragya, who is known for her controversial statements has once again come to light. The Bhopal MP made outrageous remarks at Prayer meet of former Finance Minister Arun Jaitley’s last rites ceremony. Taking a jibe at opposition, Sadhvi Pragya said “Several BJP leaders have faced trouble because of opposition’s ‘maarak shakti’.

Sadhvi further said “When I was contesting polls, a maharaj ji came and said this is a very bad phase. You must increase your prayers. Opposition is using its ‘maarak shakti’ against you and your party leaders and you must stay alerted”.

She further said “I had forgotten his words, but now that I see my party leaders passing away one-by-one, I wonder if it’s true. But it’s a fact that our top brass is leaving us in an untimely manner”.

Now, none of the BJP leaders have an answer of what does opposition’s ‘maarak shakti’ mean. Senior party leaders Kailash Vijayvargiya, who was present in the prayer meet, sidelines himself from Sadhvi’s statement. When the same question was asked from party leader Gopal Bhargav, even he dodged it laughingly. He said that he doesn’t agree with the belief.

Sadhvi herself is refraining from providing any clarification on the same, leaving the party on back foot.

Congress slams Sadhvi:

"Sadhvi Pragya's statement is extremely objectionable. It shows that she has lost her mental balance," said Shobha Oza, state Congress Media Cell chairperson.

"Sometimes she used abusive words for Gandhiji, or for Nehruji. Now she said so about the Congress. She needs to be treated as soon as possible. A mental asylum is the right place for her," Oza told reporters.

Pragya, who defeated Congress leader Digvijaya Singh from Bhopal Lok Sabha seat, has made many such controversial remarks and had to apologise for some of them.

She was issued a show cause notice by the BJP ahead of the elections for calling Mahatma Gandhi's assassin Nathuram Godse a patriot. Pragya had also claimed that the then Maharashtra ATS chief Hemant Karkare was killed in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks due to her "curse".
