New Delhi: The Congress party on Saturday released the logo of its upcoming 'Haath Se Haath Jodo Abhiyan' featuring the party symbol and also put out a "chargesheet" against the BJP-led Union Government. "After 130 days of this historic program (Bharat Jodo Yatra), Congress got enough input from the people of the country. While walking lakhs of people talked to Rahul Gandhi. We can understand their pain which they are in due to the misrule of Modi government," Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal said.

He further mentioned that 'Haath Se Haath Jodo Abhiyan', beginning on January 26, is a house-to-house campaign to spread the message of Bharat Jodo Yatra to the common people.

"Today, we released a chargesheet against Modi Government. Respective PCCs (Pradesh Congress Committees) will make chargesheet, if needed, against respective state governments where BJP or other parties are ruling," he added.

The Congress party released the "chargesheet" with a pun at the BJP acronym calling it "Bhrasht Jumla Party", also taunting Prime Minister Narendra Modi's slogan of "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikaas, Sabka Vishwaas". The party tweaked it to "Kucch ka saath, apna vikas, sabke saath vishwasghaat (With a few, for own progress, betraying everyone's trust)".

As for the culmination of the Bharat Jodo Yatra, KC Venugopal said that Rahul Gandhi will hoist the national flag at the PCC office in Jammu-Kashmir, on January 30 at 10 AM, followed by a public meeting in Srinagar. District committees of Congress will also hoist flags in their respective districts.

"We are very thankful to the people of the country for making this Yatra as a grand success. Now the Yatra has become a great moment for this country. Talk of the country is now about Bharat Joda Yatra," he said.

"The main issues raised through the Yatra are unemployment, price rise, and divisive-destructive politics of the BJP," the Congress leader added.

Venugopal stressed that the Congress has a "real field impact study about the country's situation due to the bad policies of the national government."

Mounting an attack on the Modi government, the Congress leader said, "Modi promised two crore jobs per year, now nearly nine years later, people are discussing how many jobs they actually got."

"Unemployment is at a 44-year high rate in the country," he claimed, further stressing that the education sector is "distressed". He pointed to the fuel prices and said, "farmers complained to Rahul Gandhi that we cannot afford these petrol-diesel prices."

'Haath Se Haath Jodo Abhiyan'

'Haath Se Haath Jodo Abhiyan', an extension of Bharat Jodo Yatra, will focus on elections and translate the message of the Rahul Gandhi-led march in political terms, Congress General Secretary in-charge Communications Jairam Ramesh said earlier this month.

"During this campaign, the party will cover 2.5 lakh gram panchayats, six lakh villages, and 10 lakh polling booths. Women's marches will be held in every state capital," the Congress leader informed.

"'Haath Se Haath Jodo Abhiyan' is the extension of the Bharat Jodo Yatra. People had asked the party that political issues are not being raised in Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra and we had promised there will be a follow-up to it," he added.

Jairam Ramesh further mentioned that the Congress Party's poll symbol did not feature in the Bharat Jodo Yatra logo, but it will have a prominent place in the new logo for the 'Hath Se Hath Jodo' campaign.

"Hath Se Hath Jodo abhiyan will translate the message of Bharat Jodo Yatra in political and election-specific terms," he stressed.
