New Delhi: On the third day of Russian invasion in Ukraine, the Russian troops have been advancing towards Kyiv and are 30 kilometres away from the Ukrainian capital, said United Kingdom’s Ministry of Defence.
“Russian forces have continued their advance on Kyiv with the bulk of their forces now 30 km from the centre of the city,” wrote the UK’s Defence Ministry.

Curfew Extended In Kyiv As Russian Troops Advance
The Mayor of the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv, imposed an intensified curfew in the capital as Russian troops advanced towards the city, reports news agency AP.
Mayor Vitaly Klitschko said that the curfew was being extended from 5 pm until 8 am and said that “all civilians on the street during the curfew will be considered members of the enemy’s sabotage and reconnaissance groups.”
President Zelensky Says Derailed Russia's Attack Plan
Separately, Ukrainian President Volodomyr Zelemsky on Saturday claimed that the Ukrainian Army prevented Kyiv from falling into the hands of Russian forces.
“We've derailed their plan,” said Zelensky who had turned down the offer by United States to get him evacuated.
