Tragedy struck on the Nashik stretch of the Mumbai-Nagpur Samruddhi Expressway as a car accident claimed the lives of four people on Monday, leaving several others in critical condition. The incident occurred in Khambale Shivar, Sananr taluka, in the district past midnight. According to a police official speaking to news agency PTI, a Toyota car travelling from Mumbai to Shirdi experienced a tyre blast around 01:00 am, causing the driver to lose control and collide with the divider.
The deceased have been identified as Razzaq Ahmed Sheikh (55 years old), Sattar Sheikh Lala Sheikh (65 years old), Sultana Sattar Sheikh (50 years old), and Faiyaz Dagubhai Sheikh (40 years old). The first three individuals died at the scene, while Faiyaz succumbed to his injuries at a nearby hospital.
The police official stated, "Four other passengers in the car have sustained serious injuries. One of them has been transferred to Nashik for advanced treatment, while the others are hospitalized in Shirdi."
A case has been registered, and the Wavi police have initiated an investigation into the matter.

In a separate incident last week in Bihar's Bettiah district, a speeding car ran over seven girl students, resulting in their hospitalization. CCTV footage captured the incident, showing the girls on their bicycles when a speeding Mahindra Bolero approached from behind and struck them. The injured girls, who were en route to coaching classes, were admitted to the hospital for treatment, according to sources from ABP News.
Earlier this year in February, a truck accident claimed the life of a class 10 student on her way to tuition classes in Siwan district. Following the incident, angry locals took to the streets and caused disruptions on the Orma highway, which falls under the jurisdiction of Siwan's Mahadeva police station.
