On the Diamond Jubilee of Indian Republic celebrated on Friday, the nation presented a comprehensive representation of various aspects of Indian democracy on the theme 'India-Mother of Democracy'. The tableau included an illustration of diverse facets of Indian democracy by portraying the enormity of the Parliamentary Elections in 2024 and emphasized key themes like 'Nothing Like Voting, I Vote for sure' and 'No voter to be left behind.' Additionally, it introduced innovative measures such as the 'Home Voting facility,' designed to assist People with Disabilities (PwD) and elderly electors.


Highlighting the meticulous logistics of the Indian Parliamentary Elections, the forefront of the tableau showcased an inked finger pressing a button on an Electronic Voting Machine (EVM). This symbolic representation emphasised the themes of inclusivity and citizen empowerment.


The tableau vividly portrayed the enormity of the Parliamentary Election 2024 illustrating the outreach to approximately 96 crore electors by the Election Commission of India across 12 lakh polling stations. The intricate operation involved the coordination of around 1.5 crore personnel executing their roles with the precision of a well-tuned clock.


In the rear section of the tableau, a comprehensive depiction of the diverse facets of Indian democracy was shown. It emphasised the provision of Assured Minimum Facilities at polling stations. The tableau introduced innovative measures such as the 'Home Voting facility' specifically tailored to accommodate the needs of People with Disabilities (PWD) and elderly electors.

Guided by the principle 'Nothing Like Voting, I Vote for sure,' the rear portion served as a visual testament to the Election Commission's dedication to leaving no voter behind. It showcased the Commission's strategic efforts to overcome geographical challenges presented by diverse terrains.

The portrayal of voters in queues showcased the rich cultural diversity of the nation, underscoring the joyous and pleasant voting experience. In the rear section of the tableau, the ECI's commitment to 'No voter to be left behind' was highlighted. Efforts to address extreme physical challenges, whether in remote villages of Left Wing Extremism Affected areas, arid or frigid deserts, snow-covered peaks, coastal regions, etc., were depicted to symbolize the Commission's unwavering dedication to inclusivity.
