AHMEDABAD: Cricketer Ravindra Jadeja's wife was allegedly attacked by a policeman in Gujarat's Jamnagar after the car she was driving hit the cop's motorcycle.

According to reports the car Reeva Solanki was driving has rammed into a bike of a policeman following which a brawl broke out between the two.

After the incident, the policeman is said to have reacted angrily and allegedly assaulted Riva.


The police constable, identified as Sanjay Ahir, was arrested after Riva filed a complaint against him at a local police station.

The alleged incident occurred at Saru Section road in Jamnagar when Reeva Jadeja's car allegedly hit the motorcycle of the constable who attacked her, Jamnagar district Superintendent of Police Pradeep Sejul told PTI.

"The policeman physically assaulted Riva Jadeja after her car hit his motorbike. We are providing all possible help to her and will take strict action against the policeman," he said.

A man claiming to have witnessed the incident said the policeman thrashed Reeva Jadeja "brutally".

"The policeman mercilessly thrashed Reeva and even pulled her hair during an altercation. We saved her from his clutches," Vijaysinh Chavda told reporters.
