Gorakhpur MP Ravi Kishan's wife Preeti Shukla on Wednesday lodged an FIR against a woman, who has claimed to be the wife of the BJP leader.

The FIR has been registered against Aparna Thakur at Lucknow's Hazratganj police station by Ravi Kishan's wife claiming it to be a conspiracy to malign the image of the BJP leader, who is contesting the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

In the FIR, Aparna's husband, son and daughter have also been made accused. It has also been claimed that Aparna is married for 35 years.

Aparna, in a press conference held in Lucknow, claimed that Ravi Kishan has been neglecting their daughter Shenova from her second marriage, both socially and publicly. She further said that she met Ravi Kishan in 1995 and demanded justice for her daughter. She claimed Ravi Kishan married her in 1996 in Mumbai's Malad by applying sindoor on her in the presence of his family and friends.

However, Preeti Shukla in the FIR claimed that a Samajwadi Party leader was involved in the entire matter. She also said that she had also complained about blackmailing against Aparna to the Mumbai Police a year ago.

She further alleged that SP leader Vivek and YouTuber Khurshid Khan are the main perpetrators behind the conspiracy.

Ravi Kishan, who is contesting the elections from the Gorakhpur seat, has not yet issued any statement on the allegation. Quoting his "representative", a PTI report said he was out of town and would himself tell the media what he has to say.

Ravi Kishan has been married to Preeti Shukla since 1993, and they have three daughters and a son.

He won the crucial Gorakhpur seat in UP, which was the bastion of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, in 2019 by a margin of 3 lakh votes against Ram Bhuwal Nishad of Samajwadi Party (SP). BJP lost that seat to SP in 2018 by-elections.
