Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal on Monday took a dig at the Bharatiya Janata Party over the issue of Ram Mandir saying Lord Ram resides in his heart unlike the saffron party for which this whole issue is a "show-off". Sibal accused the BJP of acting opposite to the traits possessed by Lord Ram.

"This whole issue is a show-off. They (BJP) talk about Ram but their behaviour, their character are nowhere close to Lord Ram's. Truthfulness, tolerance, sacrifice, and respect for others are some of the traits of Lord Ram but they do exactly the opposite and say we are glorifying Ram," Sibal said when asked about the oppoisition's stance on the Ram temple issue.

When asked whether he would attend the consecration ceremony of the temple on January 22, he said: "Mere dil mein toh Ram hai, main koi dikhave ke liye kaam nahi karta hoon." (Lord Ram resides in my heart, I don't do anything for show-off).

Earlier this month, Ram Temple Trust general secretary Champat Rai said that the consecration ceremony of the temple will take place on January 22 and would be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi and party leader in Lok Sabha, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury have also been sent the invite but the leaders are likely to give the event a miss.

Other eminent personalities that have been invited include: Spiritual leader Dalai Lama, Mata Amritanandamayi of Kerala, yoga guru Baba Ramdev, cine stars Rajnikanth, Amitabh Bachchan, Madhuri Dixit, Arun Govil, film director Madhur Bhandarkar and prominent industrialists such as Mukesh Ambani, Anil Ambani, famous painter Vasudev Kamat, ISRO Director Nilesh Desai.
